A little taste of Gulu…

May 4th, 2010 | Comments (0)

As all of you know, things are done a little differently here in Uganda.

Everyday we are reminded that life here is unique, that we are learners of this culture, and we that must be able to adapt to a different way of life.

One of the major differences: FOOD. The local diets consists mainly of beans, rice, potatoes, meats and some local dishes called posho, matoke, and bo. Food is FRESH. No preservatives. No artificial flavors. Just pure, natural foods taken directly from the ground, or in this case… chicken that is prepared just before our eyes. And by prepared I mean caught, killed, de-feathered, and cooked.

Atim Alice loves to prepare fresh food for us.

Today’s menu? Chicken. For those of you who like organic, natural, fresh meat… I think Uganda is the place for you. It does not get more natural than this.
