Looking to have the summer of your life? Intern with 31 Bits!
But hurry, the deadline is this friday!
I officially share a birthday with the newest member of our 31 Bits family!
Yesterday, on my birthday, I had the privilege of holding a brand new baby, not even a day old. One of our beneficiaries, Oyella Kevin, gave birth to a precious 7.5 lb girl in the wee morning hours of March 24th. Tina and I were able to visit Kevin in the hospital and were completely surprised by her quick recovery as she ran through the wards to greet us, calling us to come see her baby. It was beautiful to see her face so full of joy and life as she held her 3rd born child, healthy as could be. She will take the next few weeks off work to rest and will join us again when her maternity leave is up. It is so exciting to share in the joy as well as struggles of our beneficiaries. And it’s pretty cool to have a birthday twin too.

Expanding to 83 designers in Uganda has forced us to move to a bigger, more functional compound.
Our ladies now have plenty of space to create the jewelry, fellowship with each other, grow produce, cook together and let their children play… it’s a beautiful sight.
We’re blessed!
In honor of World Water Day, we’d like to send some little bloggin’ love over to our friends at
Not only are their bottles RAD, their cause is even cooler.
These guys donate 100% of their profits to Poverty Alleviation and Clean Drinking Water Projects! They have sponsored projects in Uganda, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Niceragua, and Tanzania.
31 Bits has teamed up with Nika in creating a special edition Nika bracelet that you can purchase HERE
These designs are some of our favorite… fun to stack, and super colorful!
Meet Eric, he is one of the more crucial parts of 31 Bits.
First and foremost he is great friend to us all. On top of being a stand up guy he does pretty much everything. He is our “Boda” (motorcycle taxi man) and he takes us anywhere we need. He also constructed the verandas our ladies work under and he did it in two weeks! Lets just say nothing in Uganda is ever built in such a short period of time, but Eric made it happen. Whenever he overhears the smallest complaint about something broken he figures out a way to fix it whether he personally takes responsibility or finds one of his friends to complete the task. He is pretty amazing. In his spare time, which he has very little of, he loves to practice Taekwando. He competes in many competitions and has done very well. He is also planning on attending University this fall to be a mechanical engineer. It has taken a lot of hard work for Eric to earn money to go to school but he never lets anything slow him down.
All in all Eric has been a great blessing to 31 Bits and we are so happy to have him in our lives!
In order to respect and acknowledge the devastation that is going on in Japan, we will be taking a
bloggers day of silence.
For Japan With Love has a direct link on their website to the fundraising page for ShelterBox.
ShelterBox responds to disasters by delivering boxes of aid to those who are most in need. Each large green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster, and they can contain anything from cooking utensils, tool kits, blankets, etc.
We encourage you to contribute to this cause, and to continue to pray for Japan.
