Nighty is our one and only tailor here at 31 Bits. She sits out on the porch with her sewing machine each day making the bags we use to pack our online orders inside. All of the materials she uses for the bags are bought locally in the Gulu market, just down the road from our offices.

Living in Gulu during the Holidays is proving to be a little more difficult than expected. Rather than the beginning of winter being just around the corner, we have dry season – the time of year everyone in Uganda dreads. We miss the cool air, and we missed our family during Thanksgiving last week, but we didn’t let that stop us from having a fantastic meal with some great friends.
Julie and the girls made our entire feast from scratch, including two pies, two casseroles, mashed potatoes, rolls, stuffing, and gravy while the boys butchered and cooked the turkey that we bought from a neighbor the day before. Julie even ran (and won) the first annual Gulu Turkey Trot! It was quite a memorable Thanksgiving.
Meet Malia, our campus rep for USD!
Malia was a PR & Marketing intern for 31 Bits over the summer, and we just couldn’t let her go! She’s been doing an amazing job promoting 31 Bits on her campus. Just next week she will be hosting “A Night With Alpha Phi & 31 Bits”- a shopping event in which Malia will talk about 31 Bits and show the 31 Bits Video! We can’t wait!
