Don’t you love waking up with the feeling it’s going to be a good day? The skies are painted blue. Flowers are in bloom. You feel like humming. There’s no difference between work and play. You eat sweets for breakfast. You know… a peachy keen kind of day. Where nothing can bring you down.
That’s how it feels at our headquarters in Uganda. It’s always a peachy keen kind of day. we work with over 100 women who can wake up every day surrounded by optimism, community, endless laughter, creativity, family, unplanned dance parties, sharing stories, and hope for bright futures.
We asked the ladies of 31 Bits what their favorite time of life was… and they all said “RIGHT NOW!” Because right now, they are living their dreams. At one time, it seemed nearly impossible to put food on the table, go to a doctor, or send their kids to school. But RIGHT NOW, each of the women in our program have a job, a community, and a bright future ahead. They spend their days caring for their families, their community, and each other. It’s not uncommon to walk into our Headquarters and hear women singing and clapping. They love telling stories and the amount of laughter that fills the day is indescribable. RIGHT NOW, these women get to wake up everyday, knowing it will be filled with happiness, empowerment, and hope. Now that’s what we’d consider a good day.
You might even call it a Peachy Keen kind of day.
