Meet Jennifer, our new Business Development Manager!

Jennifer is the newest addition to our team in Uganda. She is currently working on revamping the curriculum for our business class and teaching our ladies the skills they will need to start their own small businesses in the community. She also has a lot of experience monitoring and evaluating programs of local NGO’s, so she will help Gladies in the task of evaluating our programs here in Uganda.

We are so stoked to have her on the team, and we are excited to see the impact that she will have on the ladies!

We don’t say it enough. We have an AWESOME team. They’re creative, dedicated, energetic, and super quirky (just like us).

We wanted to show our interns how much we value and appreciate all that they do for 31 Bits. What better way than pedicures, shopping, and a delicious dinner?!

We had a blast exploring downtown Orange yesterday. Thank you to Sarah, Irene, Gwen, Carmen and Breanna! We love you girls!!

Meet Shauna Niequist: author of Cold Tangerines and Bittersweet. If we had a “Required Reading” section on our site, both of her books would be on it.

Shauna’s wisdom, creativity, and witty humor is not only captivating, but inspiring. We asked Shauna where she finds her inspiration, and her answer was, “In the ordinary moments of daily life: the sounds of a friend’s laughter, a line from a song, the damp & dirty smell of spring, the color of blackberries, my baby’s feet.” Her love for adventure and joyful approach to life has made Shauna a desired author, speaker, and Pinterest sensation. Gender Based Violence Training

Domestic violence is a rampant problem in Northern Uganda. 31Bits has been spending the month of March focusing our trainings, education, and counseling in the area of domestic violence.

This morning we had guests from a local NGO come to the compound to educate the ladies on how to prevent and deal with domestic based violence. We had a local attorney teach the ladies their rights as women and legal steps they can take when dealing with violence.
