Every week we’ll be featuring a different 31 Bits Designer, and giving you a peak into their world!
Aciro Joyce lives in the small town of Kirombe, with 8 of her 9 children. Her oldest daughter, Brenda, lives nearby with her husband and 3 year old son. Joyce enjoys spending time with her children, and is thankful that she can now afford to send them to school. She anticipates graduating from 31 Bits and purchasing land to farm beans to sell in the local market.
Joyce has been with 31 Bits since the beginning, and we can’t imagine our family without her. We love her positivity, determination, and beautiful smile!

The Swivel necklace is our Bits Of The Week! We love the way the beads are intertwined to create a funky, braided design! You can dress it up or pair it with jeans… this necklace goes with everything! Available in mint/light green (pictured) or orange/turquoise, our only dilemma is which option we like more!

While Dorine may be one of the youngest ladies at 31 Bits, she is also one of the most joyful and encouraging! A single mom to her sweet baby Mercy, Dorine is thankful for the family she has been adopted into at 31 Bits, as she has no immediate family nearby.
One of her favorite parts of her day is the walk from her one-bedroom hut, to the 31 Bits compound. Dorine enjoys the beautiful Ugandan scenery, and the time she gets to share with her daughter. She loves coming to work with Mercy, and rolling beads with her friends!

Spring is a time of growth, and that couldn’t be more true at our Ugandan compound. Within the last month, our staff has expanded with the hiring of a new Business Development Manager and two Quality Control managers. With more staff came a need for more space, so as they trained and learned their roles at 31 Bits, a new office was constructed!
Half supply room, half quality control office, this new building provides the space for beneficiaries to improve their bead rolling skills, while allowing space for the managers to truly take on a mentorship role with each of them.
But it’s not all work and no fun; music is always playing in the new office, whether it be worship songs or Ugandan top hits and not a day goes by that laughter isn’t heard coming from inside its walls!
