Our friends from Moderne Man stopped by the warehouse today to get some Bits.
New male models?
Atoo Monica (Everyone calls her Betty) is one of the group leaders at 31 Bits Uganda. She specializes in tailoring and embroidery and makes a perfect 87 Cuff every single time. She is a fantastic tailor and an absolute joy to be around.
Betty had an excellent year in 2011. She is one of the six ladies that was able to purchase land last year with the income earned at 31 Bits. Not only was she able to purchase land, she also has saved an additional two million shillings (about 8 months of her salary) since she started at 31 Bits.
You guys are amazing. Want to know why?
With your help, we had more than 120 house parties this Holiday season. The message of 31 Bits was spread world-wide, with parties in Canada, Honduras, Germany, and even Bakersfield!
With all of the house parties taking place, we knew there needed to be a prize for the host that sells the most jewelry… and what’s better than a trip to California?! We ended up having two incredible ladies win our contest, and we are so excited to introduce them to you!
Congratulations to Jessica from Kansas- who not only sold a LOT of jewelry, but she did an incredible job sharing about 31 Bits to her community! We can’t wait to show you around Orange County, Jessica! Here’s a little “bit” about her:

“I am a small town Kansas girl. I have been married to my husband, Chris, for the last 7 years. We have two beautiful little girls; they are 4 years old and 8 months old. I get to stay home with our girls and enjoy life with them every day! I love spreading the word about 31 Bits and sharing the story of the women in Uganda.”
Our other winner is Liz, from Costa Mesa, CA! Liz didn’t stop at just one 31 Bits party, but opened her home several times for people to come and shop! Liz- you’re a rockstar!!

Born and raised in Southern California, Liz first heard about 31 Bits at Rock Harbor, and has been an avid fan and supporter ever since. Hosting a 31 Bits party is just the first of many ambitions she has, as she plans to travel to Uganda after graduating college with her Dental Hygiene degree in May. Until then she loves sharing with whoever will listen all about her paper beads and the radical impact they can make half a world away.
THANK YOU to everyone that opened their home, invited their friends and family, and shared about 31 Bits to their community! If you’re interested in hosting a 31 Bits House Party, download the application here!
Makeup, styling, and prep work happening at the Bits warehouse right now!
Summer Watkins is rocking our world with her amazing styling skills- can’t wait to see the finished product!
“The Hills” star Stephanie Pratt was seen wearing her 31 Bits necklace in Beverly Hills last Friday! Love it! (How rad is that jacket?!)
We welcomed the newest member of the Uganda team this week. We are so excited to work alongside Emily, our new Director of Design. After only four days in Uganda, she is learning really fast. Here she is greeting Bai Christine in Acholi.
Emily will be working with our design team to create some of our upcoming jewelry lines. You will be able to purchase some of the pieces that she designed this summer!
The sale you’ve all been waiting for is happening next Saturday, January 21st from 8am- noon.
JEWELRY FROM 75% OFF.
We’ll have donuts and coffee, and a door prize for the first 50 people! Spread the word!!!
This video has been on repeat at the Bits office. Everything about it makes us happy. One Republic. Disneyland. And 31 Bits!!! That’s right. There’s a nice, close-up shot of Brent playing the keyboard and rocking his “Penton” bracelets! Just watch. It’ll brighten your day.
Brent has worn his 31 Bits so religiously that they’re almost all worn out! We’ll need to get this guy some new ones. Thanks for all of your support, Brent! And congratulations on all of One Republic’s recent success!! We love you guys!

In case you missed it, here’s a screen shot of his Bits…. (before life on the road got the best of them!)
